Rev Geo. [George] Peck D.D.
Dear Bro.
I wrote to the P.E,
whose district embraces Fredericks
burg, [Fredericksburg] in regard to the young
"Crowells", and his reply is that
he has ^ not visited that place since
March; (he lives in Georgetown D.C)
and does not remember the
name at all.
The line between us and the Confederates
is now sharpley [sharply] defined
and communication is difficult;
I will still try however to com-
municate with the preacher at
F-g [Fredericksburg], and if I receive any
intelligence I will write to you.
If you do not hear, you may know that
I have nothing to communicate
Very truly yours J. Sewall
Rev Geo.[George] Peck. D.D.
Scranton.
P'a.
[gap] Dr. Sewell
