Dear Sister
This Sunday morning of April the 5 I set myself down to write you a few lines to let you now that I am well and hope tihis will find you the same
Your leter of the 1st aroved here on time as usual and was received a cordingly you said that our step mother was very sick I had aletter from Alfred and he said the lady was sick and then he rote that she was not sow sick as they thought for and I am glad of it for I do not now what Father will do but he chosed for himself and I dont now of any way for him to do only to stand it as long as he can and then give up the ghost he must of nown by the loox of the lovely jade that it would not allways be sunshine with her if it wasant sickness it would be something else I dont wish them any harm but I dont care what becomes of the half blood for I dont believe it is useing us well not that I care any thing about myself but I dont believe the litle boys and Nancy will have any very good cesons
The snow is quite deap and the weather is midling could but we have good times plenty of fun and time pases off swiftly I got the things that J. V. sent me in good order tell jackson tliat them Cotton seeds was jest as they grade I have not catched any fish yet it has ben to cold. No more at presant.
