Camp Seamons Nov. 9, 1862
Dear Sister
I am well and hope this will find you the same.
I am here in Camp with the rest of the Boys it is very cold here we have stod it through a very haid storm. I sleep warm on a board I have not done eny thing since I have been here I hope they will put us whare it is warner before long or I shal try to get home.
They will not grant eny Furlows they will not allow us to gow out of Camp after water with out a Guard gos with us.
I herd the re port of a gun the other Day and I looked up and saw a man fall as if he was shot ded but he onley los one leg.
We are all anxious to now our destination we have formed our selfs in to a Cumpany we have elected our Captain his name is A.M. Phillips of Benton we like him very well.
They have talked of puting us in to old redgments but we have refused to go and we think we shal not have to go.
I have not got home sick yet I have not heard from home since I left. I have sent home two or three letters and have not received eny answer yet. I think by to morrow I shal get one. Thare is so much confusion that I can not think of much to write. Sow god by you must write son.

I am on the snow of Camp Seamons and would like to have you come down and see us Dance. I have not made but fore cente yet and them I pittched a bout two hours for it is Sunday they say to day and I must gow to meeting sow you must excuse me from writing eny more.
